Endometriosis News – March 2025

A rapid saliva test (Endotest®) for diagnosing endometriosis has been reimbursed for French patients since February 11, covering 25,000 women over the next three years as part of the Innovation Package (Source: HAS, January 8, 2024).

A clinical study is being conducted on 2,500 of these women, and the results will determine whether the reimbursement could be extended more broadly. This test may prove useful for patients with a strong clinical suspicion of endometriosis. Diagnosing this disease — which can cause infertility and have a significant impact on quality of life — is often challenging. The test could help reduce the number of unnecessary laparoscopies performed when standard imaging results are negative or inconclusive. It is based on the detection of miRNAs in the patient’s saliva, opening the possibility for self-sampling solutions.
